Steve had done the illustrations for the original hardbound jacket which was designed by Don Morris. This was the paperback version. My idea was to keep everything light and make it look like the type and illiustrations were in motion. William Morrow and company is a big cookbook publisher. They publish beautiful books. It was nice to work on covers for them.
Dessert Circus at Home by Jacques Torres. Published by William Morrow and Company. Jacques, a famous chocolatier, was the Executive Pastry Chef at Le Cirque for 11 years. My simple idea here was to use circus graphic elements (colors, patterns) and make the cover fun. My wife and I were invited to a demonstration that Jacques was giving. We were introduced to him and he was very happy to meet us. He loved the book jacket and made us an amazing Chocolate Moose! I'm talking serious delicious!!
